Family and Consumer Science for 6th-12th grades includes standards for food, nutrition, and cooking, homemaking and interior design, child development and care, interpersonal relationship skills, fashion, textiles, and apparel, and employability and entrepreneurship. Our family has decided to rename this section of standards Life Skills and add to it. It will be taught in our home from 6 – 12 grade in formal settings (with lesson plans) and from birth in informal ways. I have included some resources for the lessons our family has chosen to cover. We allow our child to choose a limited number of topics each year, which we cover in our Life Skills days on the schedule. Feel free to use these resources as needed (understand they are a work in progress) and adjust to the needs of your family and individual child.
